The Graduate Internship Pathway is by far the more commonly used of the two. Graduates who have completed a qualifying internship or who have a Manitoba employer job offer post-graduation will typically find this the more accessible route.

Eligibility Requirements

Core eligibility for both pathways requires graduation from an eligible Manitoba post-secondary institution with a degree, diploma, or certificate. The institution and program must meet MPNP criteria — not all programs at all institutions qualify, and short-term certificates or language programs generally do not count.

• Institution: Must be a recognised Manitoba post-secondary institution (university, college, polytechnic).
• Credential: Degree, diploma, or certificate of at least 1 academic year in duration.
• Graduate Internship: Current enrollment in the final term or graduated within the past 3 years; must have or be completing a qualifying internship with a Manitoba employer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my entire degree have to be from a Manitoba institution?

No. You must have graduated from a Manitoba post-secondary institution, but prior education elsewhere is acceptable. What matters is that your final degree, diploma, or certificate is from an eligible Manitoba school.

Can I apply if I graduated more than 3 years ago?

The Graduate Internship Pathway generally requires graduation within the past 3 years.
